LUXURY ON THE LAKE

Bow Mar is a neighborhood in Littleton, Colorado scattered with many Mid-Century Modern homes, located 12 miles southwest of Metro Denver - south of Quincy Ave, north of Bowles Ave, along Sheridan Blvd. Bow Mar is surrounded by many parks and lakes, and consists of one story single family homes on acre lots. Many of Bow Mar’s residents are second or third generation families, 95% of residents own their homes. Many homes in this neighborhood were built to reflect Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie School style of architecture. Residents now enjoy a private beach, yacht club, ice skating rink, and tennis courts. The area has a country feel but still has close access to local shops and restaurants. About 900 residents live in this one square mile within 300 homes.

Where does the neighborhood Bow Mar get it’s name? It’s short for Bowles Lake and Marston Lake, which were named after two farmers who put this area on the map. The founder of King Soopers, Lloyd King, then hired a real estate agent to purchase the 575 acre parcel of land to become a luxury neighborhood that would govern itself. In a sense, this did actually come to fruition, however, the parcel was sold off to another developer and King’s ideation never came to fruition.
