Cherry Hills Village includes 6.5 square miles bordered by Hampden Avenue on the north, Belleview Avenue on the south, a combination of Dahlia, Happy Canyon Road and South Monaco on the east, and Clarkson Street to the west. Incorporated in 1945, the village of around 6,000 residents has its own police station, schools (such as private high school Kent Denver), and fire departments. It is conveniently located between Downtown Denver and the Denver Tech Center.
The allure of this neighborhood to the city’s elite is the fact that the neighborhood feels like it’s privately tucked away in the countryside, however, it’s only a stones throw away from happening local shops, restaurants, and entertainment. Many of the homes reside on immaculate half acre to multiple acre lots and are thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) of square feet in size. The area has quick and easy access to I-25, PGA tournament golf courses, tennis clubs, equestrian centers, and has expansive views of the mountain ranges to the west.
Many of the homes in the neighborhood range in architectural styles, and the area started being developed in the early 1960s. Some properties are in need of updating, while others are completely turnkey (albeit much more expensive). Homes range in value from around $1.5 Million to $18 Million+. While aesthetics are certainly important in this neighborhood, location and configuration of the lot and land it encompasses is the most important aspect to consider in a home search.
The neighborhood often attracts celebrities including famous athletes, as well as C-level executives for large corporate businesses. Many iconic historic mid-century modern homes are nestled in this neighborhood, including the personal residence of local architect Charles Sink.
