TUCKED UP on a HILL OVERLOOKING THE CITY LIGHTS

Green Mountain Estates is a quaint mid-century community nestled next to Green Mountain which features the 2,400 acre William F. Heyden Park, the second largest open space in Lakewood. The neighborhood is about 6,800 feet above sea level, and while it doesn’t have an HOA, it has been governed by the Green Mountain Civic Association, a neighborhood organization formed in 1981. It is a quick five minute drive down the hill to many amenities and grocery stores, including the Union light rail station and transportation hub with access to many different bus routes. Sixth Avenue provides quick and easy freeway access into the city, it is about 15-20 minutes into Downtown Denver depending on traffic. The area also has quick access to 1-70 and the mountain corridors, and is close to the shopping district at Colorado Mills. It also has a close proximity to Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison to the Southwest. Many people hike and mountain bike in the trails surrounding the neighborhood. It is relatively quiet and at night some homes have views of the city lights up on the hill. The neighborhood feeds into Foothills Elementary, Dunstan Middle School. and Green Mountain High School. Green Mountain Estates hosted the 1962 Parade of Homes. My extended family has owned property in Green Mountain Estates since the 1970s.
